The pain this solves

  • Terminal text needs to remain readable across different display and vision preferences.

What ships with it

  • Offers a curated monospace family list filtered by the fonts installed on the Mac.
  • Accepts a custom installed font family and clamps size to 8–72 points.
  • Font files are not bundled as a 100-plus collection in the app.

Questions this answers

  • Can I choose a different terminal font in Chau7?
  • Does Chau7 bundle more than 100 fonts?
  • Can I use a font installed on my Mac?

How it works

The font picker filters a curated list of monospace family names through the macOS font manager. A custom family name can be applied when the font is installed and resolves successfully.

Font size is clamped from 8 to 72 points, and the font-weight setting is clamped to the supported NSFontManager range. The list varies by which named fonts are installed on the Mac.

The listed typefaces are not embedded font files shipped by Chau7. The stable source does not support the claim that 100-plus fonts are bundled in the app.

Why it matters

Readable terminal typography is a personal preference. Chau7 lets you select fonts that are available on the current Mac and tune the text size and weight.
