The other Chau7.
There is a French sock manufacturer with a website called chau7.fr. They make real socks. We make a terminal named after a sock. We love them.
Two very different things. But are they?
We named our terminal Chau7 because chau + sept = chaussette = French for sock. We thought we were being clever. Turns out there's an actual sock company in France that had the same idea, except they followed through and made actual socks.
Chau7.fr is a French sock manufacturer. They make socks. Good ones, apparently. We are yet to order from them, but we know someone who did. We'll ask them for a clear and thorough review.
We are doing two very, very, very different things. One of us makes GPU-accelerated terminal software with SIMD parsing and MCP automation. The other makes socks. One of us runs on Metal. The other runs on cotton. One of us optimizes context tokens. The other optimizes foot comfort.
But honestly? We both named our thing after a sock. We both picked the number 7. We both cater to people who care about what they put on every day. The overlap is more real than it should be.
